How We Review Products

Last updated: October 2026

PickWorthIt’s recommendations come from comparative research — not from rewriting manufacturer descriptions, and never from inventing results. Here’s exactly how it works.

Our method

For each product we cover, we compare:

  • Specifications — the documented features, dimensions, capacities, and capabilities from the manufacturer
  • Owner feedback — what verified buyers and long-term users report, including recurring complaints
  • Expert and credible sources — established reviewers, specialists, and reputable publications where relevant

Based on specifications, owner feedback and comparative research, we build a shortlist, weigh the trade-offs, and explain who each product suits — and who should skip it.

What we evaluate

Every product is assessed on the same attributes:

  1. Performance — how well it does its core job
  2. Value — what you get for the price, relative to competitors
  3. Ease of use — setup, daily use, learning curve
  4. Features — the functions that actually matter
  5. Build quality — materials, durability, warranty
  6. Maintenance — upkeep, consumables, long-term costs
  7. Overall — our bottom-line verdict

Our honesty pledge

“Unless an article explicitly says a product was hands-on tested, assume our assessment is based on specifications, owner feedback and comparative research — we never claim testing we didn’t do.”

That means:

  • We never write “we tested…” unless actual testing occurred.
  • We never invent performance numbers, prices, discounts, quotes, or certifications.
  • If a claim can’t be verified, we leave it out or say so plainly.
